Salon Policies COVID-19 Update

Below you will find my regular salon policies.  Changes to the policies and procedures due to COVID-19 are in brown and will remain in effect until further notice.

While I have access to the building and my phone 24/7, Saturdays are spent traveling on location for weddings and Sunday and Monday are my days off therefore you may not receive a call or text response until Tuesday morning.  As special projects and events take me out of the salon on regularly scheduled days I will open up other times to be available to the salon.  **Due to COVID-19 Closure, I will be working extra hours upon reopening to get everyone back in as soon as I can. **

Appointments:  Appointments are made on a first come first serve basis by texting or calling me at 804-306-0583.  Please allow 24 – 48 hours response time for messages left.  I will do my best to respond in 24 hours but know the first few weeks back to work will be extremely hectic. 

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations should be made no less than 24 hours before the appointment is scheduled to start.  Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are subject to a cancellation fee.  No Shows will be charged the fee associated with the booked service before being able to schedule their next appointment.  Clients running 15 minutes late or more may not be able to receive their service in its entirety but will be charged for the full service.  In the event the service cannot be done due to timing constraints the appointment will be treated as a No Show.
Reasons to Reschedule:
    - The person scheduled for services or someone in their household has a fever, flu like symptom, vomiting or any other COVID-19 symptoms (
click here for more info).  In order to reschedule you must be symptom free without the aid of medication for at least 72 hours.
   - The person scheduled for services or someone in their household has traveled to known COVID hotspots in the past 14 days.
   - The person scheduled for service or someone in their household has come into contact with a COVID positive patient in the past 14 days.

I ask for as much notice as possible for rescheduled or cancelled appointments.  My cancellation policy above will be waived due to illness of the person scheduled to receive services or someone in their household.  If upon arrival you are exhibiting signs or symptoms of being sick you will be asked to leave and contact me once you are symptom free.

Payments:  Payments are due at the time services are rendered.  Payments cannot and will not be held for any reason.  If you cannot pay for your services in full please cancel your appointment prior to 24 hours before the appointment time or the cancellation fee will be incurred.  I will be disinfecting my phone between clients, since that is what I use for processing credit card payments.

Supplies/Inventory/Special Orders:  The supplies and inventory I have in the salon have been chosen after careful consideration of what is available to me.  I have been trained to use the products I carry which is why I do not change brands without thought and research.  I am asked all the time to try new things and get them in the salon.  I try to look into all suggestions but some do not make sense for my business.  I will only use products and tools in the salon that I have purchased.  Special requests to use alternate products in my services will not be accepted (i.e. – “Can you get Matrix color for me instead of Redken?”).  Special orders can be placed for retail products but must prepaid when the order is placed, this includes the hair purchased for extension services. 

Additional CORONOVIRUS Precautions and Procedures:

In order to comply with local, state and national requirements and recommendations, I am implementing the following additional procedures and precautions:

Masks:  Masks are a recommended precaution against the transmittal of coronavirus and COVID-19.  Masks are required to be worn correctly (covering the nose and mouth) while in the salon.  I will be changing my mask between clients.  I will also have some cloth masks with ear elastics for clients to use during services if you do not have your own.  In the event I can get disposable masks, I will also have those to offer as well.

Hygiene:  Hand sanitizer will be available for client use during services.  I will wash my hand before and after each client and as needed throughout the appointment.  If you prefer, you may use the sink to wash your hands.

Entry:  The doors to Sola will remain locked during the day to limit people in the halls.  Please text me when you arrive, let me know what door you are at and I will in turn text you and meet you at the door when I am ready for you to come in.  When you are leaving, please don’t hold the door open for anyone.

Walk-ins:  The doors remaining locked also means that I will not be taking walk-ins at this time.  Any new clients can call/text and set up an appointment. 

Additional Guests/Children:  Only those receiving services are allowed in the studio.  This allows us to abide by the proper social distancing guidelines in my small space.

Sanitization:  My studio will be completely wiped down in between clients.  This includes door handles, chairs, stations, sinks, counters, and any other surfaces.  All combs, brushes, shears, color bowls, color brushes, nail tools will be soaked in Barbicide or go in a UV sterilizer.  The surfaces in the salon will have to remain wet with disinfectant for 10 minutes before I can wipe them down and tools going in UV light need 15 minutes.  I am having to schedule extra time in between appointments to accommodate these additional sanitization activities.

Laundry:  Capes and my apron will be changed between every client and placed with the dirty towels and masks in a closed laundry hamper taken home and washed every night. 

Trash:  While I will be taking trash out every night, I temporarily will ask you to take any food or drink trash with you and use the trash can outside the building or one at home. 


Service Changes:

Lip and Chin waxing will temporarily not be offered.  Masks must remain in place during entire appointment.

Blow dry services:  I will be offering blow dry services as long as you are comfortable receiving them.  There do not seem to be any recommendations to not give/receive blow dry services, so as long as we are both wearing masks, I will leave the decision up to you.
